Colton Merdich


Colton is Senior from Arizona pursuing a major in Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Global Health. He conducts research on autonomic disorders with the UWMC's Neurodiagnostics Lab and is the Director of META UW, an RSO committed to teaching high-quality CPR to the Seattle community. Additionally, he is a FIG leader, running a class for fall quarter, and helps prepare lab media for the microbiology program. Outside the classroom, he enjoys all things outdoors, film photography, grabbing (many) cups of coffee, and meeting dogs.

Audrey Huang

Vice President

Audrey is a Senior majoring in Physiology and minoring in Nutrition. Besides being a part of AEΔ, Audrey is Vice Director and an instructor for META UW and President of the Bioethics Student Association at UW. She is involved in neurodegenerative disease research and also volunteers regularly for ROOTS, a young adult shelter. In her free time, she enjoys biking, listening to music, reading, and yoga. She is easily distracted by bubble tea and dogs.

Megan Grantham

Vice President

Megan is a Junior majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Spanish. She is a Washington-native, so the outdoors have always been important to her. She loves hiking, running, and exploring with her dog Cooper. She has been in AEΔ for two years now and loves the fact that this organization strives to provide a community of support for pre-med students. She has enjoyed her time at UW so far and is extremely excited to see what this year has to offer!

Nikhil Patel


Nikhil is a Senior from Los Angeles studying Physiology with a minor in Spanish. He has been involved in cardiac electrophysiology since high school and cardiac stem cell research since coming to the UW. He is excited to start research with a lab studying glial cell activity during ischemic stroke. Additionally, he is a tour guide for UW’s Housing & Food Services as well as a member of Global Medical Brigades. In his free time, he loves to play sports (basketball, tennis, golf) and go out to eat with his friends. An interesting fact of his is that he has been playing piano and guitar for almost 13 years.

Shelby Cornelius

Outreach Chair

Shelby is a Junior majoring in Biology and minoring in philosophy. Her future career goal is to become a pediatric oncologist. She works with kids as a camp counselor with Camp Kesem which is an RSO dedicated to supporting kids through and beyond their parent's cancer. She performs research at Fred Hutch and recently returned from a brigade to Honduras with Global Medical Brigades. In her free time, she likes to drink coffee and soak up the sun (when it's out). 

Sean Koo

Philanthropy Chair

Sean is a Junior from Bellevue, Washington, who is majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, and minoring in Public Health. He is passionate about becoming an ophthalmologist in the future. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing soccer and football, as well as getting Starbucks for stars.

Ryan O'Boyle

Philanthropy Chair

Ryan is a Junior planning to major in Neuroscience or Molecular Biology.

He volunteers at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia and his specialty interests are Orthopedics and Neurology. He also works as the Scholarship Chair for his fraternity. In his free time, he enjoys skateboarding and making music.

Sammy Blue

Membership Chair

Sammy is a Junior studying Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology with a minor in Global Health. She is passionate about global health work and intends to work as a physician in sub-Saharan Africa in the future. Sammy also volunteers at Swedish Hospital as a COPE health Scholar and at the UWMC. Outside of school, Sammy enjoys skiing, hiking and running!

Jake Lally


Jake is a Junior from Oregon and is majoring in Law, Societies and Justice, and is interested in becoming a surgeon. Outside of AEΔ, he is an RA in McMahon Hall, which is a great way to interact with new students every day. He is an avid runner, loves to hike and enjoys almost any outdoor activity. Jake also loves to explore the city because there is always something going on that is exciting and new.
