Pumpkin Carving Social Event

Hi Premeds,

Hope everyone is doing well with midterms going on. AED has some great events coming up to check out in your free time. As a reminder, you must attend at least five meetings or events in order to be eligible to apply to the shadowing program. This Thursday (10/29) is the Pumpkin carving social event from 6-8pm in SAV 130. It will be a great opportunity to take a break from studying, meet new people, enjoy some candy, and take your stress out on carving a pumpkin. Attendance to this event will count towards an attendance for the shadowing program.

Please make sure to secure a pumpkin by RSVPing at this link: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/turianl/283578

The AED study groups are finally here!

Included in this e-mail is a link to the survey where you can fill in your classes and availability so we can match you up with a study group. The study groups are perfect if you are looking for others in your class to study with or to procrastinate with, we don't judge.

Here is the catalyst survey: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/turianl/283890

Become An Official Member!

As a huge reminder, if you haven't emailed an officer yet about setting up an INTERVIEW to become an official member then you should do that ASAP. If you are still interested in being involved and are not an official member, find the necessary information here and then email any of the officers.

Mentorship Programs

Make sure you are an official AED UW member to be eligible for these programs!

OFFICER STUDENT MENTORSHIP:

The Officer Mentorship Program is now available, if your looking for someone to provide support and information as you proceed as a pre-medical student here on campus, then fill out this survey here! AED officers are a great resource for you to get more information about AED, being pre-med, getting involved on campus, what classes to take, etc. It is also a great way to have a smaller cohort within AED as well and meet new people who have the same course schedule as you. Read the officer biographies here and select your top two for the survey linked above.

MEDICAL STUDENT MENTORSHIP

The medical student mentor survey is available! Fill it out to be eligible to be matched up with a med student at the UWSOM. This is an amazing opportunity to ask a med student about medical school, how they got there and any advice they have for you. The survey can be found here.
