ABOUT AED AT UW

Hello Huskies,

Welcome to a new year at the University of Washington! I am so excited to welcome you all to a wonderful year of AED.

The past few years have brought about drastic changes to all of our livelihoods, and AED has been no exception. With all of us needing to change to an online format and now back to an in person one, I’m so happy to see AED’s resilience through it all. With that being said, I’m beyond thrilled for this upcoming year. We have new activities and opportunities (and yes, pizza) in store for everyone. AED has given me so much guidance, and is a huge reason I am where I am today in terms of my passion and preparedness for medical school. I hope I can extend this same experience to you while navigating your time here. I also hope that you will take advantage of this community of similarly focused people and use it to find new friends.

We have a packed schedule of events this year from physician panels to case studies and MCAT prep nights. We also plan to host socials and philanthropy events where you can get to know other pre-health students here at UW. Keep an eye on the calendar and your inboxes for events! I’m excited for the year and everything it may bring. I hope you’ll enjoy AED as much as I do.

Sincerely,

Alice Hofsetz

President 2023-2024
