Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes me eligible to apply?

    • You need two things: 1) to be a current member of AED at UW and 2) to have attended 5 events during fall quarter. If you are unsure of how many events you've attended, please email any officer and they can check for you! All their emails can be found here.

  • What if I have almost 5 events? Can I still apply?

    • Yes! If you have a reason for why you could not attend 5 events for fall quarter, you can still apply! There is a question on the application for you to explain your situation, but first choice will still be given to members with 5 events.

  • When is the application due?

    • The application will be accepting responses until 11:59 pm on January 3rd! Please make sure to get yours in before then!

  • Does everyone get in?

    • Unfortunately, no. This is a competitive program, so please spend some time constructing your answers. We try to match as many students with physicians as possible, but we only have a limited number of physicians available.

  • How are applications evaluated?

    • During the first week of winter quarter, the applications will be blinded and evaluated individually by 2-3 officers, giving a score for each short answer question. The scores will then be averaged, and pairing will occur from highest overall score, until all the physicians have been paired.

  • If I have a question that's not listed above, what should I do?

    • Email an officer!
